This review is written by Scott Sammons, Christina's husband using her account (as are most reviews in her name) the opinions and faults in grammar, spelling or punctuation are mine alone,It is very rare for me to write a five star review. With the vast number of poorly written texts that have instantly garnered lavish reviews, I have raised the bar on my own criticism and rate all titles on the same standard, be it from a first time independent author or a classic from a large publishing house, all consume the same amount of time and memory space be it organic or digital. By any standard J.S. Morin's "Mad Tinker Chronicles" is excellent. I have purchased all of Morin's work published to date after being introduced through a free offer of "Mad Tinker's Daughter". These books have been excellent with innovative and compelling storytelling and a minimum of rehashing of previously presented material in the interest of making stand alone stories. I would love for the books to be longer since I rarely down load anything less than 300 pages, that said these stories are nicely complete and satisfying.
I truly expect to find copies of these books to be popular and being sold fifty years in the future since they have all of the elements to stand the test of time. I can offer no higher praise.

Mad Tinker Daughter Twinborn Chronicles Book 4 eBook JS Morin Reviews
So I have to say that I haven't really tinkered (!) much with the steampunk genre, and I've never heard of J.S. Morin before this book. I'm more of an epic fantasy / high fantasy / sword & sorcery reader, with occasional trips into scifi. But this came up on my list of books to try for free and I thought I would give it a shot. Boy was I pleasantly surprised. I tore through this book in less than a week (I only have a couple hours a day to read for entertainment). I am blown away by the intricacies of the different storylines, the richness of the characters, and the unique concepts introduced at the same time. Mr. Morin managed to weave steampunk, magic, and epic fantasy in a way that seems to reach out and grab a hold of the imagination. I loved Rynn / Madlin and her father, and I feel invested in them now. I will be going onto the next part of the series and I'm even tempted to grab the earlier Twinborn series to catch up on what I could be missing.
I especially love that there's very little romance and/or sexiness in this story. I'm tired of picking up new fiction to enjoy; whether it be fantasy, urban fantasy, or post-apocalypse, and finding within a chapter or two that the teen heroine (it's always a teen heroine) is caught in a love triangle and also happens to dress sexy (with elaborate, uncomfortable descriptions), and the story idea takes a back seat to who she will fall in love with or at least fall into bed with. Thank you, Mr. Morin, from recognizing that not every story needs or even calls for that.
I am new to steam-punk and also new to the whole Twinborn theme although I almost instantly fell in love with both!
I will admit to having to read this book cautiously and slowly so I could fully wrap my typically historical or paranormal driven mind around the purely fantasy / sci fi theme. After I acclimated I found myself submerged in the storytelling involved with this arc.
In theory, some, but not all people live a fully separate life in a different world while they sleep. Or they're only conscious of their second selves when they're sleeping... I think it's more that than the first. But essentially, when you dream you live two lives.
In one life Madlin is the daughter of a wealthy business man who nearly rules the world (Tellurak) in which she lives and in her second life she (Rynn / Chipmunk) is a free borne human in a world (Korr) where humans are slaves and both free borne and slaves are the lowest class citizens in a world ruled by "others".
I was truly reading with caution as I was trying to keep straight the worlds and lives of Madlin and Jamile in comparison to Rynn/Chipmunk (who is the same person but alternative identities or alter egos). Jamile does't show up until the end of the book but I think that will change going forward now that both the Twinborns have found each other in Korr.
The book is very sci-fi/fantasy and does require some suspension of reality but it is rich and wonderfully written. You can see and smell the worlds and their differences and the characters introduced at the end of the book promise to bring more to the story as it goes on.
At first I was a bit hesitant because it was a lot to take in, by the middle I didn't want to put it down and once it ended I immediately started the second book. Due to Dan I think I may go back and read the first Twinborn trilogy so I know how they all come into play.
Very well done. Highly recommended )
I, too, did not realize that this is book #4 of a series, but I read it anyway and made some sense of it. I enjoyed finding out that the characters are twin-born and what that means as far as memories and experiences are concerned. Once I realized this, the stories took off for me. If I had read the first three books of the series, which I plan to do, I'm sure they will mean even more. An interesting plot device having twin-born share memories and skills and intelligence across worlds. When magic and slavery are added to the mix, explosions follow. I really liked the level of character development in this book and it will be interesting to see where the fight for freedom leads.
A very complex story. At first I was afraid it would take too much concentration for an enjoyable read but when I got into it the author's talent took over and the story flowed.
Basically everyone is two people. You are one person when awake, then when you sleep you become another person on another world. I though that would be annoying to the reader but after the first couple of chapters it flowed enough to keep me interested in the story until the end.
Loved all the inventions.
